The Department of Statistics came into existence in the academic year 1982-83 in Government college of Arts and Science, Aurangabad. Considering the utility and applicability of Statistics in various fields, the department of Statistics was established in the college for undergraduate level. The unique feature of the department is the facility to opt Statistics at B.A. The students can opt the subject under faculty of Science as well as faculty of Social Science. This is the only college offering Statistics under faculty of Social Science affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad.
